LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION - WVATDA's President and lobbyist works with the state legislature on all matters of concern to association members so that their interests are protected in Charleston. Our strong franchise law is one of many issues addressed with our state legislature.
CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATION - WVATDA maintains close contact with our state's congressional delegation, and with the staff of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), in order to protect the interests of association members in Washington.
LEGAL COUNSEL - WVATDA retains Jackson Kelley as legal counsel. They are available for interpretations of all industry related legal or governmental questions.
REGISTRATION REPORT - WVATDA members can receive monthly, a listing of all new and used vehicles sold in the preceding month that includes the selling dealer's license number, the purchaser's name and address, and the serial number of the unit sold. This report is published by WVATDA.
DEALER SERVICES INCORPORATED (DSI) - WVATDA's Dealer Services Incorporated makes many products, parts and services available to association members in a very price competitive fashion through the strength of our members bulk buying power. DSI is a unique money saving service offered to association members. TRAINING SEMINARS - WVATDA strives to keep its members updated on new issues and regulations through our seminars: example; titling seminars, tax issues, leasing laws and many other issues as they happen. Our goal is to make your dealership personnel as knowledgeable as possible through these seminars.
FORMS PROGRAM - WVATDA members can purchase required forms to conduct and protect their business. Some of the many forms we offer are Buyers Guides (warranty), Sellers Disclosures, Bill of Sales, Odometer Statements, Application for Employment (meets federal and state requirements) and many more.
WVATDA has joined with ADP Dealer Services to provide you with DealerCAP forms through Dealer Office Xpress (DOX). DOX is a strategic alliance between ADP Dealer Services and Standard Register - two leaders in automotive and document solutions.
ANNUAL CONVENTIONS - WVATDA holds an annual convention that includes business meetings with speakers geared to our industry, nightly functions, and golf tournaments. These annual meetings are usually rotated to go in-state one year and out of state the next. When in-state associate members are invited to display their product at our exhibition.
ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW – WVATDA holds an annual auto show that gives the public an opportunity to view new cars for the following year, as well as concept cars of the future. The V.I.P. Auto Show Reception, held especially for the dealer, associate, and corporate members of the association, allows members to receive a chance to preview the show and it’s many features prior to the actual auto show.
All member dues are payable on a calendar year basis. All dealer applicants must be new car dealerships in the state of West Virginia. The primary purpose of the West Virginia Automobile & Truck Dealers Association is to promote high principles of commercial honor and integrity in sales and service for the general public. All associate, dealer, and corporate applicants must accept and agree to abide by the Certificate of Incorporation, the By-laws and such standards and practices as are properly adopted by the Association. A failure to do so will render its membership subject to cancellation.
